I have posted before about a cousin who interact with a lot who has ADHD. They changed meds 3/4 of the way through the school year, his mom hasn't kept him on them reqularly of cousrse and neither her or grandma control him when he goes off. He can call people names, trash the house and even get abusive and they will clean up after him, blame other people and cuddle him and kiss. Sunday he would not stop going off on me, talking back to me, yelling at me and being an all around ass. I resorted to ignoring him for the most part because talking does no good-he just smarts off whether you say something postive or negative. He doesn't see things the way they are, for example I can buy his brother something for 10.00 and buy him something for 11.00 and he gets upset that I buy his brother more stuff than him! If I ask him to come over to where I am so I can show him something he ignores and gets pissed when I put it away ten minutes latter.
So besides ignoring him-what should I do? Also keep in mind he is not my child and I cannot do any "parental" things or his mother will get on me. I have to just be there and keep myself in check.

So I am right when I say this is your cousin? Other than just being there for support when he needs someone to talk to I don't think there is much YOU can do. If the child's mother wont be consistent with his treatment plan then you cant really expect this child to get better unless he gets the proper help he needs. All you can do is try to be supportive and stay involved in the child's life. He will need that at some point in his life even if he doesn't see it now. I really do hope this child gets the help he needs because not only is it frustrating for the family but one can only imagine how he must feel!

there really is nothing much you can do except be there. The thing is is with an ADD child they are feeling just as frustrated on the inside also, esp. with an inconsistent treatment plan. Keep the lines of communication open and be there for him, he will need you esp. in the upcoming teen years. Love him, and try to educate YOURSELF on reading ALL you can about ADD, then maybe you can help him AND his mother. God bless!

The aunt left me in charge again this morning, he refused to listen to me. Ran a few minutes late, then had to run back to get his sweatshirt. Yesterday he totally disrepected me. Then today he did not take his medication, Concerta 36 m, and got in school suspension during first period and I know the aunt will blame me, even though I cannot be the "parent" and order him around-ugh frustrated

This is more then an issue with ADD it seems like there are parenting issues going on here too. The best you can do is tell him your expectations when you are watching him. Kids want boundaries and if they arent given they get out of control. when your in charge get out a paper and list your expectations...and then give him rewards when he does good.
