I too have ADHD and have been dealing with effects basically all my life. Now everyone's ideas about treatment and tips and tricks are very wide ranged, here are some things that have helped me with common everyday things, like school, work, chores, getting up and ready for the day, staying motivate, staying focused and much more:
Getting all your excess energy out:
-this is for relaxing your brain a little bit to concentrate with out all that pent up energy
Taking shorts but effective breaks:
-the purpose of this is to give your mind a goal to set on to help get what you need to get done before doing something totally random like going to make 24 fleece blankets for no one in particular in the middle of the summer, you get what I'm saying right. So breaks would usually be about 10-25 minutes long doing whatever said goal is like making fleece blanket in the middle of the summer
I hope these two things help you if you nee more ideas just send me a message or reply back to this message. I know that ADHD is a difficult and can make you feel like you are all alone but your not, trust me
I have always found some form of daily exercise very helpful in building my ability to stay focused. I jog, but you can get the same affect from walking, biking or exercise routines.
I also try to see my ADD as a gift/special power that has to be harnessed.:). As I developed the discipline to stay focused over the years, I found that I was able to excel.
Hang in there and believe in yourself.
That works for me.
