Dr just prescribed this to Stephen to add to his Concerta 27mg. He is starting him on 1mg and will increase to 2mg next week. Has anyone used this and if so does it help? We are so desperate for some relief of this. He has seemed much calmer but a bit whinny today. Not sure if it's the meds making him whinny or not. He pitched one of his huge fits about an hour after having taken it today but after a 30 min nap he was much better. He got mad at his sister and told her he hated her while ago and I sent him to his room...he screamed a few times but after ignoring him he decided he would rather be in the family room so he quit..much shorter fit time then usual..so I am hopeful.
My son was never zombie like on it, but each medicine affects each individual differently. He was first on Focalin and he was EXTREMELY violent on it. Then we switched him to Vyvanse and he lost so much weight that he was sickly. Intuniv has been a god send for us. It's jsut.... I have MY son back. He is happy, active, healthy, and praise God he has put on weight! =)
A lot of people on here say that they take their child off of it before the first month is up, so their children aren't getting the chance to adjust. I suggest sticking it out through the first month and then decide if you like it or not.
