Wish I had the answer, all I know is continue to take the medication, sounds as maybe you need a tweaking, some type of reavaluation.

I feel that way. And I don't know the answer to your question because I still feel very depressed and inadequate because of my ADD. It's as if being very bright is a curse in the case of ADD people. I'm to the point where I'm so afraid to try new things because I feel sure I'll just get insanely bored with whatever it is and fail...again.

I take medication for both adhd and depression. Medication takes edge off the intensity of the depression. Then, I can use things I learned in behavor therapy to help. It's work, but most everything in life is. It doesn't always work. Sometimes I just have to embrace the low feeling, embrace myself, until it passes, and I know it will. I have been under horrible stress at work for past two or three years. Every year, supervisor has made me feel completely incompetent because I wasn't performing tasks in same way others were. She has backed off since I went to see what my rights were for adhd, and now is a legal issue. But, sometimes I do feel very inadequate. Weird thing is...I didn't used to. I understand what you are saying.

there are times i get depressed.i dont get depressed very often since i constantly try to do things so i dont dwell on add.i get more frustrated than depressed.

Thanks for your advice. I will be getting tested soon for add adhd. So, right now I'm taking no medications at all...

I know the feeling. I took Zoloft and Welbutrin before that for years. I am finally off both, but still feel depressed from time to time. It's hard. The drugs did help, though.

There are anti depressants that work with adhd, I am currently on them, but no ADHD drugs as I have learned to cope with my ADHD.
When I dont take the anti depressants I am a mess, weepy, violent and nasty.
Find a drug that works, depression is no way to live your life.

I don't experience it as a constant depression cycle, however, depression does weave in and out. Sometimes the weight of dealing with struggles which having ADHD presents, can wear me down. Sometimes, it's just depression weaving in and out of it's own accord. Bottom line, I have to "catch" my thought patterns which are unhealthy, and which foster a depressive state of mind. It's hard to learn how to do it, but it's worth mastering. The more you do it, the easier it gets over time. It also takes energy, so make sure you eat right, get sleep, and stay balanced with work and play, if at all possible. Good luck!

It is like a cycle sometimes. It is up for a few weeks, then it can get low.....and the depression....is hard to deal with. It is hard work trying to pull yourself together and deal with the constant struggle of ADHD. I would like to say that if I could take Wellbutrin....that was a good happy feeling....while I could take it. However, I am allergic. There are not many other meds like it that I have found. Exercise is a good alternative. It really does lift you up and keep you going.....if you keep up with it. Once you do it for a while, and stop...you really notice how you are low more than before. Keeping busy....with the things you like to do.....find your happy things that you like...and try real hard to force yourself to do those things as often as possible. Really, eating healthy, exercise, and sleeping well all are huge factors as well. It is so hard to do all of them....and stick with it....but, all that I mentioned are keys to keeping you away from the depression. I am good at giving advice....I feel the depression more than I would like.....I myself need to work more at following my own advice. I know it works.....It is just hard to stick to it on a regular basis. I would get yourself in a exercise program first though....try to stick to it. If you give up a bit, just go back....it really does change a lot of how you feel. Anyone can tell you that.....
