ADHD / ADD Support Group
Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD) are more common than you might think. It is a syndrome that exhibits symptoms such as hyperactivity, forgetfulness, mood shifts, poor impulse control, and distractibility. Join others who suffer from these conditions and share your experiences.
Secondly, are you involved in any sports? If not, I suggest finding a way to run the track a few times before school. Simply burning off a lot of energy, and avoiding sugar for that matter, can help you sit still for longer periods.
Now to completely say the opposite, try keeping a stimulant such as soda (not an energy drink) handy for those classes you are having the most trouble with. Downing a dose of caffeine right before you walk in the door can help stimulate those weak connections in your brain that are required for focus - and I've had teachers tell me it works. Just be aware that overuse of a stimulate reduces it's effectiveness, so only when you need it.
Finally, allow yourself spontaneity/unfocus time, either during lunch or after school. Trust me, it builds up if you don't, and it becomes harder to focus.
