ADHD / ADD Support Group
Attention deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and attention deficit disorder (ADD) are more common than you might think. I was one of those really quiet girls who never spoke in school and was never hyper.
Still I was diagnosed with ADD not ADHD but then when I got older I was told that ADD is now called ADHD and it was like a new name for it. I never did have the hyper problems at all.
I was always very quiet and listened to my parents and did what I was told. I never had that anger problem and was never aggressive the way a lot of ADD people are these days. It makes me think that maybe I did not have ADD and maybe had autism instead. I think that now people just refer to ADD as ADHD and just group the two together.
I fell thru the cracks and no one cared.
My mom always made a big deal about how I would amount to nothing because I could not do well at school.
I feel this was not the only problem I was also lacking in all social skills and could not get any friends at all and this led to lack of confidence and no body was ever nice to me and everyone teased me so yeah I guess we are in the same boat.
I had a similar life except nobody ever liked me to tolerated me.
I was always teased and that has made a dent in my self esteeem that can never be repaired.
I don't think parents and teachers realize the
negative impact this behavior has on someone like me. They think oh she does not care because shes stupid and has ADD and shes not a real person anyway. Well I do care and all my life I have been trying to get accepted for who I am. Every day I just keep trying a little more. I am doing good for a person like me.
