When my 6 year old is getting all wound up running about the house, jumping off the furniture, etc. etc. most of the time I'll tell him that if he wants to run around like that then he needs to go play outside, but if it's raining or night time or whatever, I'll squat down to his level and hold his shoulders to keep in one place. I ask him to look at me, he does for like half a second. At this point I'm trying to have a calm conversation with him so I can try to calm him down, but he can't even calm down enough to listen to what I'm saying. My son can litterally act like he's insane at times. Completely out of his mind, wild eyes darting all over the place, hysterical laughing and babbling non words. And since I cannot get through all that wildness, I send him to his room until he has calmed down. He has a complete meltdown, screaming and crying, "What did I do?" and "You're mean!" After he's calmed down, which can take a while, I can talk to him and tell him he needs to settle down. He says ok and I let him join the rest of the family, but it never lasts very long. And bed time is always a battle. Getting ready for bed and getting into bed is usually not a problem, the problem is that he's very hyper at night. He jumps around on the bed and laughs at nothing, throws stuff, just crazy hyper out of control behavior. I usually end up having to go back into his room like 10 times before he finally falls alseep. And everytime I go in he immediately jumps under the covers laying in bed, and says, "What?". I tell him I can hear him jumping around and needs to lay dawn and go to sleep because he has to get up early for school. Then, he doesn't want to wake up in the morning because he's tired. And I tell him it's because he refused to go to sleep last night, but he still has to get up. UHHHHHG. And he loves to be just plain obstinate and defiant! He argues everything just to argue. He calls people names and tells me "NO!" all the time. He even called his sister a bitch the other day.
He also has Tourette's Syndrome. The school thinks Aspergers, and what about ODD?

He actually act like this all the time, even at school, it's just more stressful at bed time because I'm tired as well and I'd like to get some rest.
Can you tell me why you think it sounds like Aspergers? I've researched it because tha't what his teacher thinks, but it didnt sound like him to me. The only time doesnt look you in the eye is when he doesnt want to listen to what is being said and he has absolutely no obsessions what so ever. He loves talking to people, always asking lots of questions and he can be very empathetic. He is also a huge jokester and understands sarcasm.

I personally don't think Aspergers or ODD, because he doesn't really have the symptoms of Aspergers and even though ODD fits him EXACTLY, it just seems, well, I don't know, unreal. I'm really not trying to offend anybody by saying that, it's just a tad hard for me to grasp is all. I just feel like maybe I'm somehow parenting him wrong. He is very sensitive and highly emotional, and our family has been through a lot, from losing his "dad" to moving to a new state, so I just feel like maybe he's having a hard time dealing with all that and I don't know how to help him.
Also, how much will this program cost me after the 30 day trial, because I am low income and curently $125 in the hole at the bank.
