Scared to take solu-Cortef shot

Hi, this will be my first time taking solu-Cortef shot( that large of amount) plus I will have to double my Cortef, ( currently take Cortef 35 mg daily) I'm scared to be honest, I've never taken this much b4, what's ur experience with having to take so much, plus doubling my dose, I'm scared it's going to make me feel bad and give me side effects, although I'm sure il need it. Thanks in advance for ur comments and support

What's your reason for needing it?

I've had to double my dose and also ended up taking the shot a few times. Once giving birth, once with the flu and once because I was stressed out and crashing. During birth I felt a little hyper, with the flu I didn't really feel any different I still slept most of the day away, and the time I was stressed out and crashing it picked me up back to normal with a shot of caffeine like feeling.

When you need it your body will use all of it, it's when you didn't need that much that you will get side effects of too much.

most the time when you take your shot its cause you rely need it and you wont feel it as bad sometimes, but if stress douse i agree with the cafine feeling, but i also have about a week later i well feel hungrier and well have a shorter temper snap at people but that only last for a few days and get better, so you do have to watch how often you stress douse as it can cause weight gain sometimes, but never be scared to take it you well be ok. hope this helps.

Find out if you can reach someone in your medical help to talk with ~ please don't have fear. Fear is not knowing, ask questions, ask questions and discuss and discuss....I hope and pray your stress and fear are addressed and you can then relax a bit.

I agree there is power in knowing, I've used the solution injections several times with no side effects, we had to start it when I would go to the hospital and they wouldn't know what to do with me, first time they kept me with a bp of 88/11 for almost an hour when I coded they finally reacted. So don't be afraid it's just a way of getting it into you quickly you'll be

I have polyautomimmune disease so I have several "rescue" injectables, depending on which is acting up. I can tell you that self injecting, when you need your life saving medication is reassuring and empowering! Please make sure you have a med alert bracelet. Rescue personnel and Emergency room staff look for that FIRST thing. Then there is minimal delay in getting the care you need.
