Addison's Disease Support Group
Addison's disease (also known as chronic adrenal insufficiency, or hypocortisolism) is a rare endocrine disorder. It is estimated that it affects about 1 to 2 in 100,000 people. It occurs when the adrenal glands, seated above the kidneys, fail to produce enough of the hormone cortisol and, sometimes, the hormone aldosterone
They both can make you feel very fatigue. The weight problem probably comes from the Hashimoto's disease. As soon as it will be cured that will hopefully get better, but it's not always certain.
I don't really know what 'active hashimoto' means, but I assume that it means that the immune system is busy with attacking your thyroid. So the thyroid will probably get worse (slower) in the next few months/years.
If there are any more concerns/questions, I can answer them. I'm only 19, just joined this group today, but I have experienced both diseases for about 2 years now, so I think my experience is quite much :) except for the fact that I (luckily) have never had an Addison crisis.
