The headache, fatigue are signs of low cortisol. How much do you take each day? Do you spread your doses out during the day to get complete coverage? Steroids only last about 3-4 hours in your system. Right now I'm taking 40 mg a day because I've been sick for 4 1/2 months with a lot of different little things that have effected the Addison's. So what I've found that works for me is taking 10 mg at 6:00 am, 10 mg at 9:30 or 10:00 am, 10 mg at 2:00 pm, and 5 mg at 4:30, then if I wake up at 2:00 am I take 5 mg to help me sleep the rest of the night. Dosing this way has really given me more energy.

It takes some time to feel well after a crisis. If you need to add 5 or 10 mg for 5-7 days to feel better, depending on how much your taking now, I would do it. Let me know if you have any other questions. I've been dx over 15 years now. I hope your feeling better soon.

Thank u Lynn, I thought I might need more Cortef but my internist told me to decrease it I was real jittery and shaky inside and she thought I was on to much but I'm so sleepy I can barley function. I'm on 10mg when I wake up usually 7 r 8, at noon I take 7.5 mg and 330 7.5 mg. I figured it takes awhile to get better after a crisis but I'm having to take 2 naps during day terrible way to try and live. Thanks for input I think il increase it like u said c if that helps. T

I get that jittery/shaky feeling when my cortisol drops too low. I find a 5-10 mg dose when it starts, plus two Benadryl stops the shakes within 20 minutes. I also try to do a 5 minute walk after I take the meds, it also seems to stop the shaking, I don't know why. But then I'm good for a long time, for days usually.
