I am having a Radioactive Iodine full body scan next week for checking on recurrence of Thyroid Cancer and they put me on a low iodine diet for 2-weeks.
No salt!!!! Really hard with having Addison's when my body craves it, I use it in the afternoon when I start getting tired. It is going to be a long 2-weeks.
No Dairy at all, No salt, no processed foods, no restaurants and my weakness no pretzels.
If anyone at all has had this diet please share with me how you got through it.

I was diagnosed with arthritis on a Monday. The rheumatologist told me not to eat salt, since it would cause swelling of the joints and be painful. The same week on Thurs. I saw my endocrinologist who told me to be sure to use lots of salt, even salt tablets, since it was summer and I needed it to help with the Addison's.
I'm still taking a poll "to salt" or "not to salt" to see what results I get!
I need the blood pressure, so I salt. Then I take a pain pill when it gets too bad and cut back the salt for a day or so. Repeat ad nauseum!!

VJPM, It is hard having two diseases that are far apart from what to take and not to take. Very frustrating...Good luck
