I've got osteoporosis from the steroids and medically induced menopause with no HRT. I'm doing supplements instead of the biophosonates because of the side effects.

You might want to post on the osteoporosis support group, a few people over there are pretty knowledgeable.

Hi, I'm so sorry ur having so many issues with that, I been on meds for 5 yrs now, have osteopenia. From celestone shots and medrol dose packs( one to many) had that b4 I started Cortef and Florinef, scary to think it could do that, how long u been on them? My Goes out to u. Lynn my hormones r a complete mess, it's aweful I wondered if all women had trouble with that too? I know Lyme causes it too. Anyway I had to comment cause I often wondered what happened to u. It's good to hear from u, sorry ur having problems. Hope u get more answers.

Thanks for the well wishes. Lynn, I have osteonecrosis, which is different from osteoporosis. I have that as well but it is not the problem right now. The bone under my knee replacement has died causing a lot of pain. I find it hard to blame all my problems on steroids, but they can find no other answer. They seem to forget I had problems long before the steroids.....that is why I ended up on them in the first place. But, nevertheless, I am where I am now, and can no more get off the steroids than sprout wings and fly. So, I guess I just have to deal with one catastrophe after another.
Tonight, I am having my weekly bout of miserable bowel and diarrhea. Spending the night in the bathroom......again"........

So do they want to leave the dieing bone in your knee? Or do they think about removing it? This is the first time I've heard of it. I'm going to google it to understand it better.

It's very complicated about what to do. I went to the www.nlm.nih.gov website after I googled it. They had over 40 trials going on looking for people to join. I don't know if that would interest you. Wish you luck in finding a way to feel better.

Well, I'm not going to be able to stand this pain for long and it's getting worse. I have surgery scheduled for May 19. They will take out the dead bone and redo the knee replacement. I am really looking forward to this..........not. I don't know what else to do.

You're suffering sounds similar enough for me to share this. A dear friend of mine has a roaring case of rheumatoid arthritis destroying her spine. Her body can barely manufacture bone faster than the arthritis can destroy it. The arthritis is making her bones brittle and eroding away their density.. The inflammation pain makes massage therapy a wrong and unbearable solution. The only way she can get blood circulation going is ice therapy like athletes use. Topically, she uses CBD cannibus lotion to relieve the pain. Swears by it.

I've been using the CBD oil now since January, 2015. I used it for ulcers and gastrtis. Is really did stop the pain in my stomach most of the times. The FDA has a few clinical trials going for this, since it doesn't have the THC. IT really worked for me.

Darla40, it's not available if you don't have medical majihuana. The CBD oil I get is in a taffy candy, 5 doses a pack for $16.00. A little expensive but it really works when nothing else does. They are called Cheeba Chews, get the one in the purple package. Their other products have THC. They are gluten free too. Google it and you'll see the web site. They are in California.

I also googled it on the NIH site to see what the FDA is doing right now.
