Addison's Disease Support Group
Addison's disease (also known as chronic adrenal insufficiency, or hypocortisolism) is a rare endocrine disorder. It is estimated that it affects about 1 to 2 in 100,000 people. It occurs when the adrenal glands, seated above the kidneys, fail to produce enough of the hormone cortisol and, sometimes, the hormone aldosterone
I've kept ALL Alabama residents in my heart & prayers, since the tornado, but did not realize YOU were in Tuscaloosa. I hope you, your husband, family & friends remain safe & please, you stay healthy. I cannot begin to imagine the stress. Absolutely heart wrenching.
You are all in my prayers. PLEASE keep us posted, my dear friend.
*hugs*

Anyways, I wanted to say keep your head up and look to the skies! You may not know why it happened now, but I truly believe all things happen for a reason. I hope this brings your community closer together than ever and lots of good come out of such a tragedy.
Know you are in my prayers. The devastation looks horrendous. Good luck in the months ahead.
Good idea about keeping extra meds somewhere at hand. Earthquake country here!
Lunar, you are so right...it's heart wrenching AND gut wrenching.
We will come back better than ever. Continued prayers please.
Stay healthy!!
while i'm glad to see you posting, i'm so sorry that it's for such a terrible reason. i also did not realize that you were from tuscaloosa, and while i have been thinking of all americans who have been hard hit by recent weather, i will be sure to say some extra prayers for your town.
i am relieved that your home was spared - what a relief for you! i know you still feel awful for those around you who weren't so lucky, but this at least puts you in a position to be able to help others get back on their feet in ways that you simply wouldn't have been able to had you lost everything yourself. also, good for you for having the sense to keep insurance on your rental property - so many don't!
you are right in that even after watching news coverage, we can't truly understand what you've been through there. and what we can understand, as much as we might try, we forget at some point as it's out of sight ... we're fortunate enough to be able to go about our lives and not have to deal with such tragedy, so it's not a constant on our minds.
i feel the same way about the wars ... it's almost as though this country ISN'T fighting in two wars right now, the way we go on day-to-day. unless you have a family member fighting, it's not as prevalent as wars used to be ... and it's not right. i can't speak in definitive terms, of course - i'm sure there are those who think of our troops every day, and pray for them, and volunteer for them and their families - it just still doesn't seem that this is the way things should be stateside when we have men and women putting their lives on the line every day, in my opinion.
i will absolutely keep your community in my thoughts and prayers = and again, i am so grateful that you and your husband are safe. thank you for letting us know ... please come around more, if you can!
xoxo, misa
On another note, I hope all of you are having many good days.
Happy Cinco de Mayo and happy Mother's Day to all of you who are mothers.
Take care of yourselves and make the most out of every day that you
feel good!
