I had something similar happen Saturday night. I had been feeling a little off all day but couldn't figure out why, I'm not under any unusual stress other than the typical day to day taking care of a one year old and running my household. Come Saturday night I was stopped in my tracks, blood pressure dropped, severe nausea, dry heaving, dizziness and just awful. I took an extra 5mg cortef and took some zofran and chugged fluids. I went to bed super early and woke up feeling great the next day. I still haven't been able to place why I crashed like that but I've been feeling just fine since.

If you look farther back on the discussion boards you will see that nausea has been discussed over and over again as part of Addisson's. And none of us knows why. But we all agree that what you need to do to prevent it is to keep your electrolytes balanced by drinking Gatorade or pedialyte everyday, and once you are feeling nausea take an extra dose of steroids (maaybe 5 mg-10mg) that will help the nausea along with the phenergren. Although a lot of the Dr's are not prescribing the phenergren for long term use. So people have been cut off by the regular MD's or Endo's. Good luck.

Thank you both for replying. I know the nausea is part of it.....it just helps to talk to others with the same problem & how they deal with it. I guess a lot of AD patients suffer from nausea. On top of that I am battling IC.

What is IC?

IC is interstitial cystitis....a bladder conditioner. it is a real problem....it added 4 more prescriptions to take....yuck!

I generally get nausiated when my steroid levels are too low.

I always get nausea early in the mornings, especially if I get up and cook.

IC, in and of itself can cause nausea. Since you're being clobbered with several medical issues AND meds, your nausea is probably much more pronounced. If it gves you some light at the end of the tunnel, the nausea will resolve, once the IC is erradicated.

Lynn is right...you need to up your steroids & ABSOLUTELY increase your fluids (electrolytes), of course for AD, but moreso for a urological illness - IC. Feel better.

I believe I need a standard & permanent disclaimer, "I forgot, but had a second thought"!! I walk away after reading, posting, etc & then start to think...a very strange phenomenon! So, my afterthought:

Sheri, if I recall correctly, didn't you also have IC a while back? IF I'm correct & you indeed experience recurrent infections, have you seen a urologist? I know all of us dread the thought of more MDs, but AD & IC are not a 'pleasant' combination, to say the least.

If my memory is off & you are not the one who has a history of IC, please accept my apologies.

thank you all for replying. i think i didn't handle the holidays very well. i think the stress caused an IC flair up and then that kicked off the nausea because it has happened 3 times in the last 2 weeks. AD and IC aren't good partners to deal with.
and yes i am the one you are thinking of lunar. i was diagnosed in september with IC and i am being followed by an urologist. it just has a lot of ups and downs.
