I have a question , Jamie has been off chemo for about a week his white blood counts and hemoglobins continue to be very low, he continues to receive blood and platletts. His post bone marrow biopsy was done yesterday to check to status of the cancer cells, am I being over concerned that his counts have not started to improve on their own, is it too early. On Friday the oncologist said he would be going home on the 16th. But if he does not begin to feel better I am wondering if that is even going to be possible. So far he has battled with a port infection that was removed, then a possible sinus infection that swelled one eye closed and his face around the eyes completely swoller so much so he called himself the elephant man. It looks like that has finally started to come down but the eye is still very red, an opthomologist is to check on it today. They have taken him off an anti fungal that was causing bad side effects as well as another antibiotic that caused severe pain in his chest so much so that Friday evening they thought he had a blood clot,and ordered a cat scan it was later determined he did not and what he was experience was plurasy in the lung lining. Just seems that he has been having so many problems and his numbers are so low I find it hard to beleive he will be ready to go home by the 16th.
