Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group

Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.

Hi friends
It's been a while since I've given an update. We celebrated Tony's one year transplant anniversary yesterday on July 10th, had bone marrow biopsy done on Wednesday. The preliminary look at the slides, his Dr. emailed us yesterday afternoon, that his marrow looks perfect
We're beyond thrilled and so immensely grateful! We cried many tears of joy and relief. I want to thank all of you who have supported us along this long journey of dx, relapse, and transplant.

OOOHHHHH Lea!!!!

No kidding, I was just thinking of you Tony and Issie-what a huge blessing to read this update! I am over the moon.

You have personally helped me soooo much and talked me off the ledge many times. While in Europe this past three weeks, while visiting the beautiful cathedrals in Rome, Paris and elsewhere the description you gave of you and Tony visiting the chapel in the hospital after each visit came to me often. I always knew, your family would be an inspiration to others.

As a fellow Inversion 16er, I know because of Tony, if I relapse I will prevail because of the path he has already traveled.

May almighty God continue to bless and comfort all fighting this demon.

I am so happy for all of you. I remember following your story since my brothers transplant was just after Tonys. Unfortunately, his did not take. Damn Flt 3. He just underwent a second transplant on June 10. We are very hopeful. Early signs seem promising but fighting Gvhd. Long road ahead. But i trust we will continue to follow in Tonys successful shoes.

Thank you everyone, we have been through so much, but without this board and all of you, things would have been so much scarier! All of you who gave advise, or support, traveled the path before us are invaluable! Hope and prayer have been so instrumental for Tony's recovery, I am blessed to know you all.
