Just wanted to keep everyone updated since I have been looking forward to starting this trial since July.

Thanks to the Lord that Jack was discharged out of the hospital on Christmas Day. He has to administer IV antibiotics himself everyday because of the abscess on his left rear end. He still has some pain due to the proximity to the rectal area. He is still quite weak and very very pale. He also started on a vegan, non dairy, no eggs, no sugar, no carbs diet. ( I am quite unhappy about this but he feels this will help and who am I to stop him). He's also on Heather's list of vitamin supplements which I provided.

Next Monday he is scheduled for all the pre-trial workup which includes an echocardiogram, BMB, blood work, and a full dilated eye examination with a visual field.

I am so thankful to everyone for their prayers and support as we seem to be back on track. I do have to keep reminding myself not to be too hopeful since this is still a trial medication and his cancer is so aggressive. As Julie has said in a previous post, I thank God that I have been given this time to share and spend with my brother since we did not have a close relationship prior to his illness. God certainly has his reasons!
