Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
It is great that they are acting quickly on Julian's behalf. I don't know anything about the Minnesota Children's hospital, but wanted to let you know that I am praying for Julian every day.

The University of Minnesota's pediatric transplant team is top notch. They do a lot of cutting-edge research, and I would not hesitate to have Julian treated there. I have a question to ask. If your daughter is not a match, why would they go to cord blood instead of finding a match among the 15 million possibilities out there?
Will be praying for Julian. I have good vibes.

Minnesota is a great choice.

Although a BMT is not your first choice for Julian, what a blessing to have so many great options for treatment. This coupled with an aggressive med team must provide comfort. You are so strong to be dealing with this while caring for an baby girl and a third trimester pregnancy. Please take care of your self. I had three children close together like yourself and can attest to the drain on your body under the best of circumstances. Please, please take time to eat well and rest while in this fight. You are an awesome Mom. Praying for your family.
