Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
I focus on getting protein in via shakes and I try to drink a green smoothie (baby kale and fruits) daily. My med team said the same thing-there in nothing you can eat to keep AML away. I also asked about sugar and they explained that all cells including cancer cells feed on sugar. I also try to exercise. This is for physical and emotional well-being and to stay fit in case I need to fight the beast again. Also, my spiritual well-being is a primary focus-I strive to keep a grateful heart and to help others. I am sure you are looking forward to being off the low microbial diet.
