Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
Hello all and Happy New Year!
I can't tell you how happy I was to see 2013 end. May sound strange, but 2013 was my worst, yet most blessed year ever. Though still happy for a new year and the good things it will bring.
I was so down when my husband's first donor fell through right before Christmas and he had to go in for more chemo while they set up with the next donor. We are lucky that my husband has numerous 10/10 matches, so I knew it was just a bump in the road, but still was upsetting when you are so ready to get going.
Just found out that we are back on for the transplant this month. He will be admitted on the 16th to start the transplant process. Nice way to start of the New Year, hearing news that we will be moving forward!
Please keep us and his donor in your thoughts and prayers and wishing you all a New Year filled with GOOD HEALTH, love, laughter, joy, and happiness.
