Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group

Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.

We got news that my brother has relapsed post second transplant. We are all heartsick. I think the plan is an infusion. Supposedly at 5% blasts.
I am praying for Tony And all of you. Please keep us in your prayers also.

This disease is so unfair, I am heartbroken for you all and you absolutely have our prayers.
Tony had his DLI Monday snd it was fine, so don't fear the process, his team says there have been good results with these. We must have hope bc without it is like letting AML win!

Words can't describe the pit in my stomach reading this. I'm so sorry you have to go through this again. It's not fair. Is Dave still on 2215, or did the docs take him off after the fluid on his lungs? Are they planning to keep him on it or put him back on it if he went off?

Praying hard that this DLI kicks it once and for all, and of course you and your whole family are in my prayers as always.

The plan is stay the course meaning trial drug, infusions, blood and platelets as needed. The only other option was chemo and it would diminish quality of life. We are praying for a miracle. Bro is a fighter, if anyone can surprise the docs, he can. But please keep us all in your prayers as I do you.

To those of you who prefer a more direct route to God, we welcome those too. We are all numb but determined to fight for everyday while praying for a miracle from God.

Donor booster cells this morning. I dreamt of the donor last night. May this be a sign that this booster will help buy my brother time and strength. I dreamt he was from Classoc Germany and was chosen because his grandfather and ancestors were survivors. They were Jewish in my dream.

Please pray for Dave and all of us including that wonderful young man from Germany.

I am praying that Dave's infusion will make a huge difference for him. My donor was from Germany as apparently are many of the donors outside of the US. I am sorry that you and Dave have to live through all of this uncertainty, but I feel it in my own bones that this treatment will make Dave strong and healthy.
