270 days, wonderful, continued prayers for Keirs health, as well as for you Lori, I struggle with the exact same feelings of fear and anxiety, I try to focus on the here and now bc everything else is just too overwhelming. Tony has had a rough month, and it has taken it's toll on us both. He has labs again for him tomorrow, praying for good labs for both of them this week and continued health

good news, praying for Keir, Tony and everyone here. Have been wondering about Warrior, Jamie, and little Julian, about how they are doing? Anyone heard?

Hi Lori, it's great to hear that Keir is getting on with his life and is feeling so well. I had my bi-monthly clinic visit with my oncologist today and still in remission - yay! Bloods all good:
Hb - 133
WBC - 5.6
Neuts - 2.5
Platelets - 287
Feeling well, slowly getting my stamina back, but still needing my minimum 10 hours of sleep to function well, but not having to nap during the day. Anxiety is and will be an issue I think, especially when it draws near to my bi-monthly checks but realise that should ease with time. Have my big 50th in a couple of weeks shared with my identical twin (and my donor) which is a milestone I was unsure I would reach this time last year :( I've been blessed to have gone through treatment relatively unscathed and my only medication I'm still on is valacyclovir which I will take until my 12 month post transplant anniversary in February. Having a syngeneic transplant meant no nasty GVHD and I've managed to escape the flu, cold and bugs that have been going on around me so my immune system must be doing something right! Lori, I hope you can get to that place where the anxiety will start to lessen for you (not always easy to practice what I preach) but I feel very positive for us all that we can and will beat this aml monster :)

Thank you all. Keir's 9 month check up went well and he was taken off Fluconazole and Valtrex. He goes back in a month to check on any impact that had. I'm still nervous! Never ends, that, I guess! But he feels good and has almost no gvh issue - dry mouth, some dry skin, and that's about it. I don't have his blood counts yet (I didn't go to the appointment and he forgot to ask for a print out) but he is no longer anemic at all, which is an improvement, and all other numbers were normal.

Sounds like good reports all around, so nice to hear? Continued prayers,

Lori -- we are all so glad that God has answered our prayers in a very positive way. I am glad Keir is getting off of the superfluous medications -- everyone needs to review and cut out whatever they really do not need -- perhaps taper off a bit if there is some doubt. Very few meds have no downsides ... it is interesting to listen to the commercials on TV and then you want to ask -- why would I take a chance on all of that? I was working with on my bushog and smashed my knee with a hammer and it was causing terrible pain so I went to ER. Doc there prescribed a pain killer and an anti-inflammatory -- I checked them out on the web and decided I would just stick with Aleve. Worked fine -- it is not quite recovered yet, but for sure I did not need that powerful stuff to cause me more problems.

I will give a special prayer of thanks tonight for Keir's continued well being. Thanks for the update -- dave
