Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group

Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.

Thank you Julie for sharing this uplifting story-hope you're doing well. I'm still doing fine with no signs of Leukemia at all! Like you, I'm chemo only, and have been in remission since December 2013-all the best to you and your family.

Julie -- thanks for sharing such an inspirational thread.

Mary-Katherine -- looks like all three of us are chemo only, and I am a six year, three month survivor. Looking forward to being ten years. I think there might be some others who have even more years lurking around -- if so, please let us know. But after about three years the probability of relapse is just about zero, and you are well on your way.
