Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
Just thought I would share our most recent blood results :)
Mum has been home now (her actual home not just temp accommodation during treatment due to living in the country) for 2 weeks now and 8 weeks since last consolidation chemo.
Her blood work last Friday now shows Haemoglobin 135, neutrophils 4.05, platelets 441 and whites cells 5.5 :)
Platelets are a little higher than normal, but nothing to be concerned about... everything else in the 'normal' range.
She is back trying to be normal but taking things slowly, building her strength back up and drove again for the first time in 5 months :) (before she didn't want to drive when she had all those drugs in her system)

Platelets are a little over he high end of normal. I wish she could send a few my way. Mine are all over the place, recently in the low 100s.

Lou all our haemoglobin results seem to be in the x 100 to yours.
When mum starts this journey the haemoglobin was 56 (I think from reading others that would be 5.6) they like to keep you above 70 anything around 70 they have blood bags .
Her highest between inductions and consolidations was 114 ... Her platelets were a little crazy either down to 2 and transfusions wouldn't bring them up ( bad platelets!!) or crazy high
