Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group

Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.

Friends- I know Immunotherapy vaccine trials is nothing "new" but this documentary is the best example I've seen of the progress of cancer treatment!!! it's unbelievably amazing please watch all the way to the end because they end with treatment for leukemia, even though they are originally treating "ALL" the lead doctors ending statement about what's coming brought me to tears... Of joy!

Thank you so much for this. My brother is being trwated at Penn and this is so full of hope. Does anyone know if TCell therapy has been used on AML?

Twilight -Not yet but according to the univ of Penn doc at the end of the film, it will be used to treat and CURE all types of leukemia, and he says avail by 2016

Incredible news for all of us. It's hard to watch the kids that have to go through any of this. And they are saying it is the cure for leukemia, gods miracle for so many. Thank you for the link lea.

Thank you so much for sharing this story. A man from here in Utah was cured of his lymphoma with the HIV treatment. What a shame if funding shortfalls stop this cure from becoming available to everyone.

The patient from Utah referenced in this article, Marshall, was in treatment when I was getting induction. I remember him leaving East 8
for treatment out of state. Thanks for connecting the dots. I read the article locally but never knew it was him-what blessing!
