Are you sure you are keeping properly hydrated? Can be hard to drink enough when you are so nauseated from the chemo. That is usually what brings on my headaches.

Could be just from being anemic. I always knew when I was in tranfusable ranges because I would get headaches from low hemoglobin. Hydration is also crucial as well as getting sufficient rest and sleep.

I have always suffered from headaches since being a teen. While getting induction I had such severe headaches that could not be controlled by meds. Just recently I had a headache that lasted three days. They are not migraines so I manage to go to work and function. They were certainly worse while receiving chemo. The best med for me is fouricet as I am still avoiding nsaids due to low platelets. I do agree with the others that water is key. I seem to prefer diet Pepsi these days :-)

My husband had intrathecal chemo on induction and it caused terrible headaches. They went away with in a week or so I think

I did not get intrathecal treatment, and did not have headaches. Any substances instilled in the CSF can be irritating to the meninges (covering of brain and spinal cord). Remember that the brain does not have any sensation, but the meninges do. Stay hydrated, as Dave J suggested, and take whatever anti-headache medication your doctor suggests. Just keep yourself comfortable during all of this. This too shall pass.

My headaches told me that I had an infection, and that I was running a fever. If you are keeping track of your temperature and it is normal, then pain meds should be in order, but if you are running a fever you really need to get some help -- don't take things just for the fever and possibly mask it. You might also be masking and infection and you might not have the ammunition in your blood to fight it. Thanks all! I've upped my water intake and that helped some but I've noticed slight improvement each day. I can still taste the methotrexate which tells me its still causing other side effects. Headaches are getting a bit better though.

Yes I had headaches with my chemo. The doctor did give me pain killers, Tramadol (which didn't work) and then Oxycodine.
