Sisters were not a match but I had 5 10 of 10 so I was lucky on that.

Yes -- take it one day at a time and you will be a five year survivor before you know it. Just hang in and deal with the problems of the day -- as Jesus said -- sufficient to the day is the evil thereof -- Matthew 6. You are going to do just fine -- daveB.

I'm amazed at how many people have multiple perfect matches like this. I received the monthly email news letter from Be the Match and they said they are now up to 25 million world wide donors. Support this organization if you can, it is a wonderful cause and they are saving lives on a daily basis.

So glad to hear this. As an encouragement, I just celebrated my two year "birthday" post transplant this month and am doing great. I agree with the others, "one day at a time". Some days will be tougher than others, but each one that passes will be one day closer to getting you back to your new "normal" life! :-) I am praying for your full recovery and that along the way you will know the presence of God and His love and care for you and grant you peace "that passes understanding". I know that the peace that I experienced during this process was a gift and made a difference in my recovery, in being able to remain joyful even on painful days. Almost an oxymoron yet possible when I was aware of God's sustaining grace. He carried me through it all and has brought me back home to my wonderful husband and four precious children. My heart is so full right now just remembering everything as I type this to you that I feel like I could just bust if I have another thankful thought! :-) God bless you Scott, as you approach this big day and in all the days that follow.

Sorry I didn't see your reply question until today. Yes Dr. Jagasia is well thought of. You probably already know but you will see all of the transplant doctors and they are wonderful. Dr Kassiem was our favorite. Hayley stayed in the hospital for 35 days but we had an apartment at the Villages. After the stay in the hospital the daily clinic visits went smooth and started being stretched out pretty quickly. We were officially there a little over 100 days but had several weekend visits starting around day 70. June 27th will be 2 years. Praying everything goes well for you. I'm sure it will.

My donor is 18 yo male, perfect match. We match on blood type O+ and are both CMV neg. I guess you can't get any better than thay. Transplant is taking place on the 14th. Receiving chemo. Because of the inversion 16, my age and health they are giving me anywhere between a 60 to 66 percent chane for a cure. Thanks everyone for the prayers and encourgement they really do help
