This has been a tough month. As most of you know Jack was hospitalized late January with a fungal infection. He had granulocyte transfusions as a last ditch effort that were supposed to be two weeks long. It ended up being one month long with a sudden admit to the ICU from the regular ward because he couldn't breathe. The reason for the sudden ICU admission was that there were too many antibodies from the granulocyte transfusions where it caused an adverse effect.

He had the second biopsy (bmb to be done every 28 days from the asp 2215 protocol) this past wednesday. The results were no blasts cells. He was discharged out from UCLA this past friday since his ANC was 0.6. His platelets and Hg are still very low. He had a platelet and blood transfusion prior to his discharge.

We are extremely thankful for the fantastic results from the biopsy. Jack is very fatigued from all the breathing difficulties from the fungal infection. He still has fevers everyday which the team expects. He has lost his voice and continuosly coughs with O2 on standby at home. Home health comes in everyday for the IV antifungal and antibacterial. Emotionally this past month's hospitalization has also taken a toll and he's just so tired of being sick.
