My husband did cpi0610. Currently he is not doing well he is in ICU with pneumonia lung clot no kidney function and on a ventilator. Doc was going to stop extreme measures due to all of his issues and his AML until she got the blood work back. No leukemia blasts and he has neutrifils. She was so floored by the numbers that they are trying to save him. So we r still not sure if trial worked but his leukemia hasnt looked this good in a long time. Unfortunately all of his other problems are very severe.

My brother was on 2215 here in Philly but it was pre BMT which for him was in July. He too is flt 3 so your post scares me.

I am so sorry to hear that your brother's leukemia is back. Can they try 2215 and then another SCT?

My brother too relapsed. He was diagnosed in early Feb with BMT in mid July. After initial.treatment in Feb he was not in remission so put on 2215. It was great and got him into remission for BMT. The plan for him now is to go back on the drug and then some booster bone marrow.
Both your brother and mine are fighting.similar demons that neither deserves. Get somewhere where 2215 is an option for him.
Prayers for both and for all who are plagued with this awful disease.

Thank you all for the support, prayers and encouraging comments. Just to update, UCLA just opened the asp 2215 study. Jack just signed the consent yesterday but technically it may not start for 10 days. There are also only 6 spots for this study a UCLA which he's afraid that he may not get into. Also he must stop the sorafenib for 10 days prior which means tomorrow. Although they have increase the Hydrea because his cell counts were at 85k on Thursday he's afraid that during this waiting period his blasts maybe totally uncontrollable. He's experiencing hip pain, weakness, shoulder pains and slight fevers right when he lays down. He's on dilaudid for the pain but sometimes it's severe.

I've been reading an old post regarding alternative treatments and I've bought curcurmin, Silver, osteo k to try to keep those blasts down

Just wanted to keep all updated and once again thank you for the much needed prayers and thoughts.

Keep us posted on Jack. Prayers to all your family. I hope so much he gets on this trial. We are praying it is a miracle drug.

I was flt3 positive when first diagnosed with AML Dec 2012. I have been negative ever since first chemo treatment. Had a BMT in Apr 2013 and for a while I carefully followed the alternative treatment thread that you referred to, posted by Heather, I think. Please keep us posted on your brothers treatment and your use of the Osteo K and other supplements. I will be praying for the Lord to use it all for your brothers healing! I'm going to go catch up on Heather's thread now. :-)
