Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
My final bone marrow biopsy results are back and show no signs of leukemia or mutated genetics. I'm so thankful to God and all of the support I've had from family, friends and this amazing support group. My PICC line was pulled today and besides being bald, I'm back to normal. I'm told I have a 50% chance of relapse. I'll cross that bridge if I come to it. Keep fighting everyone.

You and I have similar treatment paths and as I near the poignant 2 year mark (Nov) since my last chemo, I realize nothing magical will happen on Nov 17, 2015. Yes, I will celebrate and celebrate big but overall, I have believed I was cured after Induction and remission on April 27, 2013! Stay positive and cherish every minute with those three precious baby boys. May God continue to bless you and your family abundantly!!!!

I am thrilled for you. Now all you have to do is to heed the advice of the wise Julie and DaveB. FORGET THE STATISTICS. As I once quoted long ago, a brilliant physics teacher that I came to know had cancer when he was probably in his 20s or early 30s. He is now totally cured. What he said, in his mathematical way, is that cancer is a BINARY thing. You either get well or you don't. You are well. STOP LOOKING OVER YOUR SHOULDER and bask in the beauty of the situation. CONGRATULATIONS on a job well done.
