Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group

Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.

Eddie: You said "AML is horrible, but let's look at it with simply a clinical eye (no emotion). As bad as it is, we all have the chance to be cured. One cannot say that about many other malignancies."

Allow me to put in my thanks to Ed and to all who post to this list. It is a real blessing to obtain the assurance that all of you provide. But it is even a greater blessing to provide that assurance and advice, especially when people as king hearted as Shimauta take the time to provide encouragement. I am hoping that everyone reading this will stay with us and help out -- we need everyone to stay on once you get into survivor mode -- it is such a blessing when they hear from you and they know that others have made it through. Thank you Shimatua but I was indeed posting Cliff's words.

I will beat this. I live each trying day happy and there is the key... I LIVE each day even though I am facing a mountain of treatment in the next few months. Doesn't matter. This site has kept me strong because you are ALL fighting toward strength!
