Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
I don't post very often but just wanted to take a minute to give an update on Hayley. Bone marrow biopsy done on December 19 looks great. She feels good, counts are good. She had her sc transplant on June 27 at Vanderbilt.
Hayley (age 38)was diagnosed may of 2012. Induction and 2 consolidations. Relapsed march of 2013. Induction put her back in remission. Chemo, radiation, unrelated donor transplant June 27.
Ed, if you get a chance to read this, I know you always commented and kept up with Hayley. Thank you so much. We are praying for you and have total confidence you will overcome this hurdle.
