Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.

Thank you for the update on precious Julian. I am so appy to hear he is on the plus side of transplant. As Dave mentioned it must be so hard to get a child to be compliant during these next few weeks. Please now I'm praying for Julian and your entire family daily.
Blessings

Better to be +1 than -1. The path is upward from here. I was going to recommend some sodium bicarb solution, but Dave beat me to it. I hated Biotene and so I stuck with the bicarb. If Julian can tolerate "magic mouthwash," that is supposed to be good too. I had such a major change in my tolerance of different tastes for quite a while that there werent too many gargles or mouth washes that didn't taste awful.
I agree with Lea that you should not let Julian get behind the nausea ball. Amazingly, I never had nausea or vomiting, but they gave me prophylactic zofran in the hospital.
VERY happy for your little man.

I am not sure I would go with club soda. All carbonated drinks have carbonic acid in them. I think it would be better to keep the gargles neutral or alkaline (like with bicarbonate). I am glad the Phenergan is helping Julian. The nausea will wane with time. What is he eating? The worst is definitely over. Just continue to do what you are doing. I think he will be in good shape before the cold season really starts up.
You need to focus on the coming attraction. A new baby will undoubtedly excite Julian and distract him.
