Hello my inversion 16 brother,

As you know my platelets have been very low throughout consolidation that ended in Nov and beyond. Prior to AML I bruised very easily. More bruising was my only symptom. In fact, I have bruises on my legs that are still the one plus year. My docs tell me that they will eventually clear. The strange thing about my bruising after dx it's that while nadiring with platelets in the single digits for 30+ days I had very little bruising. My med team told me that the body adjusts and compensates. My bruising has decreased a ton. A month ago my platelets were 72 with my next lab on the 21st I am assuming they are up because of the deceased bruising.

When we're your last labs and what were you platelets. It can also be caused by low vit k. Praying for continued remission for you Scott!

They were 256,000 about a month ago. I have bruised more easily ever since I completed all of my treatment. Just curious. I am active with cardio and weight lifting just some of the bruises come up in the wierdest places.

I would say if the bruising has not increased, no worries. One thing I look for is how quickly they resolve. For me, they did not go away when I had aml. Now that I am in remission, they fade quickly. When are your next labs

Next month. Not that worried. When dx I presented with fever, fatigue and also had night sweats. They do fade but I still don't like seeing them. Good to hear your plate's coming up, sounds good. Glad you had a good time in Caly. You deserve it

We're still here, day four. We're going back to Disney tonight after some pool time. I celebrated this morning when I flossed my teeth without any bleeding. First time since dx. I'm sure you are fine. Please keep me posted

My husband is a couple of months behind you (remission for 19 months now) and he has the same problem. His platelets are running around 200,000 now but he still bruises easily. He has actually stopped doing some of the weightlifting that bruises him (where you place the bar on your shoulders). He doesn't like seeing the bruises so he just stopped doing those ones. He bruises from sit-ups sometimes too. He mentioned it to the doc and he told us that as long as the platelet count was good not to worry about it. My husband has always bruised easily even before aml. Maybe some folks just bruise easier than others?????

Thanks for the responses. I just noticed within the last 4 months that it was happening. I hate seeing them but my anxiety has lessen over the months. again thanks
