Acute Myelogenous Leukemia (AML) Support Group
Acute myelogenous leukemia (AML), also known as acute myeloid leukemia, is a cancer of the myeloid line of blood cells. Patients with AML usually present with symptoms such as fatigue, bleeding, infection, prompting medical attention. An abnormal blood test reading will then result in further testing in a hospital with a hematologist to determine AML.
I don't believe anything is coincidental. Meditation works for so many people and i am a fan, i just don't always have the quiet tome to do it. in the hospital i would do tai chi. I spend hours visualizing my internal body accepting marrow. Funny, I am a 'Twilight' fan (teenage, but I like it), anyway, I actually found myself visualizing my blood literally being changed like when it happened in the movie.
So, whatever it takes. I would love to learn meditation. I think the mind, spirit and body are definitely I tear connected and work as one - they must- for we are not one dimensional beings.
S continue on. And congrats on not needing the shot and on having counts continue to rise. Every step forward should be celebrated.
Peace, love and hope,
Andrea
If stress is implicated in the weakening of the immune response (stress cortisol rises leading to a decreased lymphocyte number and activity), then why can't meditation do the opposite. The type of internal visualization that Andrea is describing also appears to help immune function. I think you SHOULD give credit to the meditation in the improvement in your counts and continue doing it.

PSALMS 1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the wicked, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of scoffers:
2 But his delight is in the law of Jehovah; and on his law doth he meditate day and night.
No doubt, blessings come from meditation -- dave
Meditation on The Word of God is not the same as transcendatal meditation. The Scriptures Feed the Soul, T.M. leaves the mind open to repetious thoughts, which can be harmful to the soul.
My humble opinion based on the Scriptures.
Sandra.
I would rather meditate about the Holy Spirit than about anything else. I find those thoughts the most comforting and uplifting of all.

It takes me awhile to relax and clear my mind. I go through some relaxation exercises and then allow my mind to visualize the Holy Spirit filling my body and spirit. I can then actually feel the energy of God fill my body with its healing power. I am healing, little by little. I am so grateful.
Andrea, I also believe in the body, mind and spirit connected as one. I think we get so caught up in life and the stress that we disconnect from our power, God. At least I feel that has been true for me.
Cliff, I agree, stress is terrible on your body. Relieving it through any method, can only be good. If a person just did the relaxation exercises, they would be ahead. It is so hard for me to clear my mind and relax my body. Although, I am getting better.
Sandra, Of course it matters what and how one meditates. When I finally relax and clear my mind, I really am praying. I love feeling the presence of the Lord. It was the same feeling of peace I felt when the docs told me I probaly wouldn't live through the night with the brain bleed. I closed my eyes and visualized myself surrounded by the Lords energy. I wasn't afraid.
Be Blessed,

Most people consider God's laws to be trivial and fell like they know them. But if we go deeper under the surface and take them one at a time and ask ourselves "why did God command that?" it will take us to a much better understanding of what God is all about. When we look into the bible we are looking into the mind of God ... there is nothing trivial about that, although sometimes the recognition of its simplicity is an indication of its true sublimity. -- dave
That was very deep and beautifully put. Can't add a thing to something that is so poetic. Food for thought. Thanks.

I enjoyed a friend's 'Happy Cells' meditation about vizualising creating happy, healthy, shiny new cells, filling them with love and sending them out to where they are required in the body.
I felt good about doing something positive towards my healing and I still enjoy daily meditation/ spiritual practices now.
Yours in good heart

Renate,
Es gibt gute forschung die den wert der meditation demonstriert. Ich habe versucht dies zu tun, aber ich habe manchmal schwierigkeiten dies zu erreichen. I'm working on it though. I think that being able to visualize at the cellular level how one's disease is being successfully treated really gives hope another dimension. Dave is teaching me the New Testament and so I don't dare go out of order and read Matthew now, but i believe Dave when he says that we can derive comfort from those words. I have to be patient! (Sorry for the horrible German, but I haven't studied it in a long time an am VERY rusty! I just love languages.)
