I'm not a doctor just so you know. Relax Acromegaly is a very slow moving disease. It usually take an average of seven years or so to discover something is wrong before any doctor looks for it. It is also extremely rare. 2-3 cases in a million are found every year. I assume that you are an adult because you just had a baby.(congratulations) So rule out gigantism. The most common reason for Acromegaly is from a pituitary tumor. 98% I Think. the other is from tumors in lungs or liver. so think of .001% of .001%. A Mri of the head will let you know if there is a tumor. It is out of the area of the brain. It can cause head aches. Eye vision can be effected if it puts pressure on the optic nerves. This will cause a loss of vision. It is not like your vision goes blurry (more on blurry later). Your visual field will be affected. I have a very large 2 cm tumor and it doesn't interfere with my vision. My tumor was discovered in 1995, by accident when they were doing an MRI to check my hearing. I didn't have Acromegaly at the time though. I later had all sorts of medical issues and when my GH levels came back high I was able to be treated. If you want to see how rare this is look how many members there are compared to other issues on this website.
One of my Endo doctors who was quite old (read as experienced) when i claimed that my sight gets worse through the day and my eyes get tired she said she noticed that many patients of Acromegaly say that. However it is not an official symptom. Joint pain is common also muscle pain and in the tendons. your teeth might not fit together any more. This is because your jaw grew. It grows normally your whole life but with added GH it grows faster. I have not read anything about Acromegaly affecting your Testosterone levels, but i didn't look for that specifically. Hair growth yes . I am a man so fairly normal but nothing really for me to say that it was caused by Acromegaly. I have experienced extreme sweating. I stopped when I went on drug therapy for my tumor. I havent had the operation but all my research and contacts say 1: it is the first therapy 2: They go through the nose and it is not like they need to cut your skull open. 3: find a surgeon who has done hundreds or thousands of these. It is still a very delicate procedure that is close to your brain, optic nerves and they have to break through the sack that holds your spinal fluid in you brain. Not for armatures. Ask your doctor for a visual field test if the MRI comes back positive. so the $64,000 question is "did I have the surgery?" NO. Why? well there are other personal things that are going on in my life that I don't want to be juggling along with operation and recovery no matter how small right now. I will get this done in the foreseeable future. I would like to say to you that you should not be overly excited about the Acromegaly. It does sound like you have alot of other factors to deal with. Also the stress and excitement of a new baby can get you on a roller coaster ride of emotions. I got five. It can be overwhelming especially for the mother. Not to sound like your father but if you do feel out of control with your emotions I urge you to get some help asap. Help both with the baby and for your mental health. I hope I didn't overstep my bounds by saying that but i would never want anything to happen to you especially if it could be avoided.

@Twomore thank you for responding! And you didn't overstep by any means. I appreciate the concern. I'm being treated for depression and anxiety. I read somewhere that a tumor on your pituitary gland can make things like this worse, and over the past couple of years my anxiety especially has greatly increased. I'm just wondering if this is the cause. I'm still waiting for my endo appointment. I just wish I knew for sure. I hate not knowing. I'll feel much better once I have definitive answers, even if they aren't the best news.
Are there any other reasons my GH would be elevated? Everything I look up says acromegaly.
