Well I do not have acromegaly, so that's good news. As was strongly suspected by myself I do have insulin mediated pseudo acromegaly.....so right now not sure where I belong.....quite mad that not just growth is related to this but the oily skin , sweating, muscle pains arthralgia etc. So OK we don't share the same cause but the manifestations are undoubtedly similar.

So now it's a referral to a diabetologist to figure me out. I'm a bit surprised I was discharged by the registrar today esp as they have my samples for insulin testing in storage and I did not get a clear answer as to whether they will be processed or not. I'm sure they will but feel I need to chase this up. TBH don't know why I didn't insist on seeing the boss himself, seeing as he was the one who ordered the samples to store in the event that this was the path to follow. We need to know what my fasting insulin levels were from that day in relation to my glycaemic levels....think I'd best call them tomorrow. I shall also be calling my GP to get the referral to the diabetologist happening sooner as the reg stated their letter to GP would likely take 3/4 weeks.

Today I shopped for a low carb diet. From tomorrow everything getting charted in a book, blood sugar levels and dietary intake. Seems to me that carbs may be miraclegro for me so I'm cutting down lots, at least it's something I can do in the meantime while once again the waiting begins again......grrr!

I also am hoping to get my rheumy to pull his finger out and support me more. It's hard to reduce ones BMI when your joints are stiff and sore!

I just hope that if I can lessen my insulin resistance that at least the soft tissue changes will revert back. I can live with my enlarged hands and feet just find the altered face and other issues quite unpleasant to see. I'm not vain just would like my old face back. Anyway enough bleating on. Hope theres still a place for me onboard even though I'm a phoney acro mimic .
