Hello:
I need Somavert and it is not available in my country. As patients, we are gathering for our rights, first to make the drug available and second to make the goverment cover part of its price, because otherwise, as we all know, it is unaffordable.
I will like to do a little survey to know what is the reality in other parts of the world:
Where are you from?
Is Pegvisomant (Somavert) available in your country?
Is the the drug in a goverment plan?
How much do you pay for it?

I have Health Insurance through an HMO. The government has nothing to do with it. My co-pay on the Somavert is $25 for a 3 month supply. I am in the US/ California.. good luck

Here inthe uk it is on the National Health service which is free, but a lot of people still have difficulty obtaining it, I don't know what we would do if we had to pay for it.

Hello, I am in Tennessee US. My somavert is covered partly by my medical insurance and the $100 co-pay is written off by Pfizer, the drug manufacturer. Just this year I now have a $5 a month copay, but I'm certainly not complaining!

Hello,
In France it's free, 100% paid by the National Health service.
It's prescribed when Somatuline failed to bring the IGF-1 to the norma, or when the patient doesn't tolerate the side effects of Somatuline. Never heard of a problem to get it prescribed.
