Acromegaly most commonly affects middle-aged adults and can result in serious illness and premature death. Join the group to discuss symptoms, diagnosis, and treatments.
I am again on Somavert 10 mg - already 2 months (and before I was 13 months) and I didn't gain weight, I do feel tired often and I don't lose hair. So maybe you won't have these problems at all.
I will keep fingers cross for you :-)
Take care,

"except my hairdresser knew for sure". It thinned out, especially on top, but finally quit. I suspect the surgery was more responsible than the Sandostatin LAR that I was on at the time. I've plateaued on my weight loss, not really gaining or losing. But with the extremely high summertime temps and high humidity, I've kind of been hiding out rather than exercising like I should, so I'm not 100% blaming medication. I do feel tired, but then the heat and humidity could be to blame for that, too, as lots of people I work with of all ages (except my 3-1/2 year old granddaughter) are complaining of lack of energy right now.
