Swampy I was on octetride and I gave myself injections 3x a day...100mg each time....I noticed I did n't keep much in my stomach shall we say I was very very regular...I was only on it for a month then I had my surgery.
i was thinking of getting one of those medic bracelets but i dont know if they can fit my list on it :)
Common Side Effects
Abdominal pain/discomfort occurs from 34% to 61% of cases
Diarrhea occurs from 34% to 61% of cases
Loose stools occurs from 34% to 61% of cases
Nausea occurs from 34% to 61% of cases
Stomach upset/abdominal discomfort occurs from 34% to 61% of cases
Watery diarrhea occurs from 34% to 61% of cases
Gallstones occurs in 29% of cases
Bleeding at an injection site occurs in 7% of cases
Hematoma (blood clot) at an injection site occurs in 7% of cases
Local irritation (skin irritation in the area where treatment is applied) occurs in 7% of cases
Pain at injection site occurs in 7% of cases
Stinging at an injection site occurs in 7% of cases
Sandostatin has sometimes caused these symptoms, but the percentage of occurrences is unknown. Please note: no drug should be ruled out as causing symptoms, even if the symptom is not listed.

Aggressive/violent behavior
Anorexia/loss of appetite (anorexia is a medical term for loss of appetite - sometimes used for anorexia nervosa, the eating disorder) occurs in less than 1% of cases
Anxiety (fear or dread out of proportion to situation - often with restlessness, tension, pounding/rapid heartbeats, or rapid breathing) occurs in less than 1% of cases
Blockage of the intestines (may cause severe spasms of pain, abdominal distention, vomiting, absence of bowel movement, fever and dehydration) (may not actually cause this side effect but may cause symptoms that mimic it)
Blood sugar test abnormalities (abnormal glucose tolerance test)
Changes in cholesterol blood levels
Cirrhosis of the liver (scarring of the liver) (1 case(s))
Constipation occurs in less than 1% of cases
Decrease in LDL ("bad" cholesterol levels)
Decreased T4 (a thyroid hormone)
Decreased TSH level ("thyroid stimulating hormone" - commonly used to screen for problems with the thyroid gland - TSH is decreased when the thyroid gland is overactive)
Depression/mood changes occurs in less than 1% of cases
Digestive tract problems

Dizziness occurs in less than 1% of cases
Drowsiness occurs in less than 1% of cases
Drug dependence (potential for drug abuse)
Drug withdrawal symptoms (develop when drug is stopped - may include agitation, restlessness, anxiety, depression, insomnia, tremor, increased blood pressure, nausea, abdominal cramps, blurred vision, seizures, sweating)
Endocrine gland problems
Enlarged/distended abdomen (may not actually cause this side effect but may cause symptoms that mimic it)
Esophageal varices (abnornally enlarged blood vessels in the esophagus - the tube-like structure that connects the mouth to the stomach) (1 case(s))
Gas/gassiness occurs in less than 1% of cases
Headache occurs in less than 1% of cases
Hepatitis (infection or inflammation of the liver) occurs in less than 1% of cases
Hepatorenal syndrome (involving combination of kidney failure and liver disease)
High cholesterol
- in animal studies but not necessarily shown in humans
High levels of bilirubin in the blood

High/increased calcium levels

Immune system problems
Inability to sit still/restlessness
Increased TSH levels (thyroid stimulating hormone - tends to be increased when the thyroid gland is underactive)
Increased levels of triglycerides (a fat in the blood related to cholesterol)

Jaundice (yellowing of eyes, skin and urine due to liver problems) occurs in less than 1% of cases

On lanreotide autogel injection every 21 days, bit of bloating at the beginning but fine now.
