I was diagnosed with Acromegaly in November of 2018. I’d been noticing weird things about my health for the past 5 years, but refused to go to the doctor to get it checked out...

Some of my symptoms include: large hands that continually get larger (5 different wedding bands), growing feet, weigh gain, facial features becoming larger, sweating all the time, and joint pain through my body. 

Im also an identical twin, so it was pretty easy for me to see the changes occurring. My brother is 5’11’’ and 180lbs. I’m 6’ and 220lbs. He wears a size 10 wedding band and I wear a size 14. He wears and 11.5” shoe and I wear a size 13” shoe.

After my parents and brothers repeatedly asking me to get looked at, I decided to see an endocrinologist to get some testing done. It turns out that my IGH levels were through the roof. After seeing that doctor, I was sent to a neurosurgeon for further testing.

An MRI scan showed that I have Macro adenoma. The tumor is roughly 1/2 inch in size. After swing the results, he recommended having transphenoida surgery to remove the tumor.

I willing be having this surgery tomorrow morning (1/9/19) and I’m feeling really good about it. My friend is a surgical nurse who said that it’s a very easy, routine surgery.
