I have no symptoms. I had blood work done as a general checkup due to concerns about my TSH numbers which are within the normal range. The blood work showed IGF-1 at 263. I am a 53yo male. I weightlift regularly and eat a high protein diet. My Dr. is sending me to redo the IGF-1 blood work and then possibly for an MRI. Is it possible that I have a naturally high IGF-1 numbers? Can this have anything to do with being on TRT therapy? How concerned should I be?

Got a 2nd blood test IGF-1 at 243 going to get an MRI. Is it really necessary?

It may be high due to your diet but with two high igf they like to make sure it's not from a pituitary tumor

Would eating 200 grams of protein a day have that effect on IGF-1?

I'm not sure but I did read that protein from meat mostly beef and chicken can increase igf

Interesting. My issues (I created a post as well) started happening as I up'ed my protein, exercise, and taking testosterone boosting supplements (as testosterone can promote more GH).

I always wondered if these recent manifestation has anything to do with that or is it coincidental. Either way still getting an MRI in a few days.

crono, why are you concerned if have zero symptoms? And your number is at the ceiling of the higher "healthy" range. Your lifestyle could explain why you are at the top ceiling.

But with no symptoms I wouldn't worry.
