So here's my idea!
Let's say you have a functioning pituitary adenoma with a mixture of functioning (secreting GH) ad non-functioning. The non-functioning and GH-secreting may be competing for the same blood supply and quite simply the non-functioning portion of the tumour has won the battle for the blood supply, and the GH-secreting then just gets starved. You're then left with just the non-functioning pituitary adenoma,
