Hi!
Besides the colon polyps that keep coming back I had nose polyps and vocal cord polyps. Anybody else?
My endo says only colon polyps are related to acromegaly not the nose and vocal cord polyps. I read otherwise on the internet. Should I tell my endo what I read? You know how it is, doctors don't like it when you tell them that you looked things up.

Any chance of getting a different endo or consulting a diff one for 2nd opinions ? I LIKE docs that LIKE that we are intelligent and that we inform ourselves and that will work WITH us as though we are a TEAM. I have the impression that yours is off in his/her own world on disregarding the advice of the other docs, too, based on your post about the MRI and that is some SERIOUS stuff.

Back to this post, I have vocal chord changes and have not been made aware of any polyps there, but I have had polyps in the nose a LONG time ago & I even had a mass of bone removed from the nose (turbinades) that I am absolutely convinced was from the AcroMonster. (& yes I did have a couple in the colon, too)

What do you want the endo to do with/about the info re: the nose/ vocal chord polyps?

Thank you for your response. I didn't know about the vocal cord polyps until my voice changed, went to ENT you looked in that area and saw the polyps, had surgery.
I am just very tired right now about the whole surgeon and endo confusion issue. I need a rest from doctors for a couple of weeks.
Let me know about your MRI result when it comes in.

My voice definitely changed as the vocal cords thickened. No vocal cord polyps. However, I had sinus surgery twice for "tissue overgrowth" in the years shortly before my acro was diagnosed. My dr. doesn't doubt the acro was involved in that. I wonder if your dr. was confused with the idea that only colon polyps are likely to turn cancerous. That much I have read.

Thank you for your answers. My endo clearly said that my nose and vocal cord polyps have nothing to do with acromegaly, only the colon polyps.
I think most endos deal mainly with diabetes, they don't know that much about acromegaly. I may be wrong.
