Just found out my husband's surgeon is pioneering a new technique here. Can't help but feel disappointed that it wasn't being used when he had his surgery. Of course, at the rate we're going, we may give it a try in the future.

Thank you so much for posting this. I am traveling down to Emory in June for surgery. The whole thing makes me nervous (My tumor appears to be around my carotid artery). This made me feel better...thank you :-)

This is great news for you Tmed. From what I've researched, this new HD technique makes it easier for the surgeon to visualize areas like the carotid artery.

We've had two great experiences with surgeries at Emory. Hopefully, you will have the same. As your surgery grows closer, please let me know if you have any questions.

Thanks so much for posting this! It appears that my tumor might be growing again, or that some was left behind & is active. Not sure what will unfold, but if a second surgery is on the horizon, this is really wonderful progress, especially since the area in question on my MRI is so small at this point.

Like you, I am somewhat encouraged by the people here who have had more than one surgery. And, as I stated before, I'd do it again in a minute for how much better I felt afterwards for a few months........
