Did the tumor itself grow any from last year? If you feel confused, I wouldn't do anything until you feel absolutely certain of your next move. If that means second or third opinions, or looking into radiation treaments,(gamma knife) ect. These steps are permanent so take time to research. Keep us posted.

Thank you for your replies. I am not on meds since my GH levels are below normal now. I am on medications for Lupus, adrenal insufficiency and kidney disease. My problem is the confusion about the surgery.
The tumor grew 1mm to one side supracellar cistern, was 9x12x15 eight month later 10x12x15mm. It fills the sella turcica completly and abuts the optic chiasm and coritoid arteries on both sides. Also the report says "flow voids are present in the major branches of the circle of Willis" and white matter disease.
The surgeon explained to me again about the possibility of pituitary apoplexy and to call him right away if symptoms happen.
I did check into radiation "Cyberknife" last year and was told the tumor is too large. That was before I saw the surgeons, I saw 2 different surgeon and both felt the tumor has to come out as soon as possible. That was last July.

If it were me, I would look for the best Neurosurgeon in your area and drill them about how many of these operations they have done, ect. It sounds like some people on this site have had good luck with surgery. Do your research before. I wonder if your other ailments are tied into this tumor as well?? Hormones and neurotransmitters are the messengers for our bodies, I remind myself of that daily. Hope this helped.

Hi Ulrike, my daughter had 2 surgeries, there was still a lot of tumour left so she had to have Radiation, also optic chiasm and cartoid arteries and sphenoid sinuses, we went for second surgery as the more tumour they can get out obviously has a better outcome. I always thought that if it was around or nr optic chiasm, they were pretty quick to do surgery, because of the eyesight. but things change by the year, they are learning all the time, and what suits one doesnt suit another, let us know how ou are getting on.

It seems like your eyesight is a precious commodity to risk and that danger of apoplexy is one that my first endo really emphasized so that there was NO question for me that the tumor was coming out and mine was tiny compared to yours.

The skill and experience of the neurosurgeon is supposed to be of paramount importance so I would try to get the best of the best if that is the route that you choose.
