I've been on the LAR monthly shot now for about 3.5 years.....the past year or so, I've noticed that about 10-14 days before my next shot is due, it feels as if the shot's effectiveness starts to diminish. I notice the fatigue (both mental and physical) increases, that my stamina drops, the headaches become more frequent and sever, the joint pain become more persistent, the fog (depression) rolls in and my cognitive and focus becomes more erratic.
Saturday, my wife notice several times that I was aimlessly wandering about.....once with my car keys in my hand. Another time I was looking for a pair of headphones (that we had thrown away months ago because the cat chewed up the cord on them)...when she asked what I was looking for , I told her and she reminded me about throwing them away, she asked why I needed them and I was blank. Not a clue as to why I was looking for them.
Today I woke up and my legs weren't fully functioning. The muscles felt like limp rubber bands...it took about 30 minutes to get to the point where I could walk on them.....more like a shuffle than a walk. This weakness in the legs and arms has last most of the day.
Looking back over my journal, I've noticed a pattern.......the first couple of weeks after the shot, I feel pretty good. About 15-16 days into the 30 day window, I start noticing the effects increasing.....by the last week, it's pretty much a given that the day is going to be crappy........
Just wondering if anybody else has a similar experience with their monthly LAR performance....

Excellent question. Recently I have been reviewing the fact that I have been on Sandostation LAR 30 MG since Jul 2011... Each month since.
My IGF levels have come down significantly, and then crept upwards to around 430. My Specialist states that my tumor may becoming Sando resistant and require a second medication to augment my therapy. I am starting Somavert soon, hopefully this will help.
I have been feeling in the past three months more and more irritable. Increasingly fatigued in the last month, moreso than normal. And the past month I have been having my bad sweating return... For the past three months my electric shaving every day, and nails have been growing like weeds. So perhaps becoming less effective for me as well.

So you have noticed that your fingernails grow a bit faster at times, has this coincided with an increase and or change in your medications? Intriguing.
