I've often wondered what i would look like now had i not had this horrible disease, spending endless hours pouring over photos.
When your younger u look fresh and have a certain glow making it harder to guess how u would have turned out without the acro but with the ageing. You end up thinking i should look like i did 15yrs ago but of course that would never be the case.
Then one day i stumbled upon a medical report about twin brothers one of whom developed acro and the other didnt. so there it was my answer, a photo of the 2 of them side by side. Oh how i wish i never had found it!! This pic completely mortifies me, the difference is so drastic.
It may sound shallow tht im so obsessed with the way i used to look, but hey if i cant tell u guys who can i tell.

Nobody but NOBODY understands the effect of the changes in appearance this illness brings.I struggle with this as a man so I dread to think how women cope
I cant look in mirrors (leaving restaurants shops if they have too many)even asked my mum to move hers so I dont see myself when visiting.
When I was having the head frame fitted for Gamma Knife the lady was gasping at my brow,nose etc then asked if I had been offered cosmetic surgery. i was reduced to tears.
Never been asked if I am coping,just about symptoms.
Sorry for the offloading ramble but these are feelings I normaly keep locked up.
I dont have any answers,
As soon as people get to know you they see the person not the face.
