has anybody developed an intolerance to anything??

only recently i have been diagnosed with an intolerance to milk (lactose intolernat) i have cut lactose out of my diet although it is really hard i miss so muc food. but now i am fine. if i touch milk then i get quite ill. my doc doesnt know if anybody else with our condition has developed an intolerance. so i thought i wiopuld ask to see. any info would be great xx

When I had active symptoms of Acro I craved milk and ice cream.That has pasted now, but when I do have some I don't get any reactions.Very interesting though.

I craved milk and ice-cream...also when my acro was very active...
I would actually freeze glasses of milk so it would be really really cold...I still can drink it thoguh I just dont' crave it

Well Chuck LOVES ice cream but he doesn't drink milk because it does NOT agree with his stomach in any way...

sorry I cant give you any info on becoming lactose intolerant but I can say that before having my tumor removed i was obsessed with ice cream and milk. i would eat 2 pints of ben and jerrys a day and since the surgery i havent wanted it at all. i actually bought a pint and couldnt eat it. interesting that other people had similar cravings

Ditto for me - the active AcroMonster must love Ice Cream & mine screamed for Breyers Coffee ice cream, but I also discovered a wonderful raspberry chocolate concoction and drizzled Chambord over it. Now I have some of that ice cream that has been in my freezer for almost a year and I have never in my life had ice cream stay that long in my household so I've never had to wonder how long ice cream stays good!!! I couldn't get enough CHOCOLATE milk or hot CHOCOLATE either and when I had cereal or oat meal I had chocolate milk with them.

i just cant touch any of it any more it makes me really ill.... so sad :( i love milk choccy etc.

have you tried soy milk? chocolate soy milk is great and there is also soy ice cream. havent tried it but have heard its not bad. also there are some other products out there that are like ice cream but dont contain milk. they are pretty good and have fewer calories which is always a plus for me at least!

yeah i have soya butter now and lacto free milk. and sya chocolate mousse so nice but its not the same is it.....lol and yes fewer calories prob why ive lost the weight :) just finding it a bithard with food at the mo everything seems to have bloody milk or miolk protien or lactose from milk....agghhhh so annoying. great to hear that there is a saya ice crem i will have to on the hunt for some of that the next time i go shopping. thanx!!

From what I have found out the growth hormone wants the calcium in your body (thats why we craved the milk and ice cream )and the high calcium levels help cause high blood pressure. Did any of you have high blood pressure too. I fought it for over 10 years and just a few week after surgury it was back to normal,I had to wean my meds off,I was on 3 different ones for the high blood pressure.

Glad it worked that way for you Debbie! I was wishing it would for me, too. I got rid of the diabetes right away, but still have the high blood pressure, so far.
