Flying after surgery

I just had surgery and may need to fly out of state in a few weeks. The neurosurgeon said fine but the ENT said no. Have any of you flown on a plane within a few weeks of your surgery?

I had transsphenoidal surgery 2 years ago in Medllin Colombia. Flew back to Aruba, where I Iive, 5days after surgery. 2 Days after this I went on vacation to the Netherlands. This was all fine with the neurosurgeon and I didn't experience any noticeable side effects. My energy levels where low however for a few months.
As the wound has healed properly and you don't start to feel worse I don't think there should be a problem.

My surgery at end of July and my surgeon says can't fly for 3 months. Have booked for Australia end of October and he says should be okay by then.

Did the doctors say what the specific risk was?

FYI....I did end up taking my flight with no problems whatsoever. The ENT's concern was with possible CSF leak. I think it would be an issue if I had experienced a CSF after surgery, but I did not. I will tell you I was a nervous wreck as the plane started taking off. I was worried about bleeding and pain, but I didn't feel any difference at all. I just thought I should follow up and let you know my experience.
